MISS JOO

For MISS JOO, the dream of becoming an artist always seemed too far away and unrealistic. Growing up, she had a deep love for music, but pursuing it as a career felt daunting. Based in New York, she spent years honing her craft in private, playing her ukulele and piano, and writing songs that reflected her innermost thoughts and feelings.

During the pandemic, MISS JOO began to take songwriting seriously and dedicated herself to honing that skill. This period of intense focus and growth allowed her to embrace imperfection and find her true voice. Later, she took a leap of faith, deciding to share her music with the world and fully embrace her passion.

Her debut EP "BARE" is the culmination of this journey. It features five raw, unfiltered acoustic ballads that explore themes of insecurity, nostalgia, love, breakups, and self-acceptance. Each song is a testament to her commitment, as she wrote, composed, and performed everything herself. With minimal production, "BARE" serves as a statement of accepting herself as she is. Despite her initial hesitation, believing her music wasn't good enough, MISS JOO decided to release these unpolished but heartfelt tracks, hoping to help others feel okay with their own insecurities and imperfections.

Influenced by artists like Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, and Adele, MISS JOO's music is characterized by honest lyrics and a hopeful tone. Through "BARE," she invites listeners to embrace their true selves and find hope in their own journeys.
